The costs to print books listed below are solely reserved for authors who have published with Dog Ear Publishing. Our book printing services cover the full gamut of product, including paperback book printing, hardcover book printing (also know as hardback book printing), and hardcover with dust jacket book printing.

On-demand digital print sizes (trim sizes), formats and per unit price formulas appear in the shaded boxes below. The majority of Dog Ear books are printed on-demand in response to orders in quantities as little as one at a time. Dog Ear can also print your book in a traditional offset manner,which dramatically reduces your per-unit cost. However, to achieve this lower book printing price via offset printing, order quantities start at 2,000 units for such reduced printing prices. Contact us to request a quote if you have the need to print a large quantity of books all at once.

For all of our books, Dog Ear Publishing prints on high quality, acid-free, book-grade opaque paper stock. Black-and-white books are printed on either a 55# natural shade opaque or 60# white. Color books are printed on a 70# bright white stock. Paperback covers are printed on a bright white 90# cover stock.

A note on Full Color book printing costs - (sometimes called picture books)

Our color book printing is NOT limited to children's books, picture books, or even comic books. Full photographic essays, highly visual manuals, and many other types of books can be printed using this technology.

BOOK PRINTING COST EXAMPLES

Black & White, 150 page Paperback, 6 X 9 trim, $1.28 per unit ($1.28) + 150 pages @ $0.02 / pg ($3.00) 
= total price per unit of $4.28

STANDARD Full Color, 48 page Paperback – perfect-bound, 8-1/2 X 11 trim, $2.25 per unit ($2.25) + 48 pages @ $0.045 / pg ($2.16) 
= total price per unit of $4.41

PREMIUM Full Color, 48 page Paperback - perfect bound, 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 trim, $2.00 per unit ($2.00) + 48 pages @ $0.08 / pg ($3.84)
= total price per unit of $5.84
